La nueva escalera del edificio Rectorado de la UPV/EHU en el campus de Leioa ha dotado al edificio de un nuevo acceso desde la planta baja. El acierto en el resultado ha sido, por una parte, la elección de los materiales (madera para el forro interior del hueco y estructura metálica para el soporte), y la iluminación, con unas luminarias empotradas en la piel de madera que crean juegos con la disparidad de sus posiciones.
The new staircase at Rectorado building of the UPV / EHU in Leioa campus has given the building a new access from the ground floor. The success in the result has been, on the one hand, the choice of materials (wood for the inner lining of the hollow and metal frame for support), and lighting, with recessed luminaires inside the wooden skin that create games with the disparity in their positions.
La claridad y simplicidad del resultado es evidente, pero esconde un largo proceso creativo en el que, como parte del Servicio de Arquitectura de la UPV/EHU, tuve el placer de trabajar y colaborar.
The clarity and simplicity of the result is obvious, but hides a long creative process in which, as part of the Architecture Department of the UPV / EHU, I had the pleasure of working and collaborating on.
La entrada al edificio desde la planta baja también se ha transformado, dotando a esa planta de abundante luz natural y una transparencia que antes no tenía.
The delivery of the timber to the existing finishes of the building was carried out simulating overlapping planks that create interesting shadows games .
The entrance to the building from the ground floor has also changed, giving the floor plenty of natural light and transparency that did not have before.
